Because I was an FMF Corpsman, I am privileged to be a member of the Marine Corps League. If you can find it in your heart, please buy a new toy, unwrapped, and deposit it in the collection containers that are available in most malls and mega stores like Walmart or take it to your local Marine Corps recruiter. The thought that some child will go with out a present this Christmas just tears me apart.

Thanks,

Doc.

Every year sir.
I buy older kid stuff like basketball's baseball mitts, stuff like that. I heard years ago they get plenty of stuff for the little tikes but had a hard time with older kids. I take the gifts and my kids and we go to the local fire station to drop them off.

Me and my boy do this every year. Up until three years ago, I would always buy a toy for a boy. When my son was 4, I decided to let him pick out a toy. He said
"Dad, you have to buy two presents!" I alked him what he meant. He said "one for a boy, and one for a girl." That had never crossed my mind. Gotta love kids.

Just dropped ours off today, Doc. We do this every year and this year TheBoy(c) decided to use his own money that he has earned to buy one of the toys with no prompting from anyone. I'm not ashamed to admit that I shed a tear right in the middle of the store when he told me what he was up to.

Make a kid (or 5) smile this Christmas, gentlemen.

My gift has already been donated. It breaks my heart to know that there are children out there that will have nothing to open during the holiday season.

My company contributes to Toys for Tots every year. If you bring in a toy you get to wear jeans for the entire month of December. This year we filled the back of a semi trailer.

Without a doubt my favorite charity.

As a member of reserve Marine squadron for eight years now, I have first hand experience with T4T (as we call it). The hardest age groups to supply are always the older kids and the infants. Ages 9-12 girls and boys and infants always cause us trouble. By the middle of the distribution period we've already cleared out TrUs and Walmart of all their toys. We'll go to one of these stores and literally clear the shelves and fill over thirty baskets with toys.

That link is to the official T4T website. There you can search by state and region and find the nearest campaign office and drop-off locations. Also, trust me when I say, they can always use volunteers at the warehouse. You have no idea how many toys get sorted a day in one warehouse. In our's alone we sort over 100,000 a day, and we're a smaller community...

If anyone else has any questions concerning this program whatsoever, feel free to PM me...

Every year...thanks for the reminder as we haven't dropped anything off this year.

Happy Holidays!

Rob
