Tried to get my girl to smoke

I bought her an Acid Nectar thinking she might like how sweet it is. She smoked it slowly and said it was okay, but she didn't like it that much. She kept saying it tasted like smoke. I just thought she kept saying this because she isn't a smoker until it almost went out. I took it from her and gave a coupleof heavy drags to heat it up a bit, and man, it really did taste like smoke. I was smoking a Gurkha something at the time, and I asked her to tell me if that tasted the same to her. She said she actually liked the Gurkha better. Go figure.

Funny, I tried to get her to....ahhh, never mind!

A Fuente Short Story is usually a good starter smoke. Good luck.

try giving her a CAO moontrance next time. I've gotten good responses from the ladies with that particular smoke.

While I hate to agree with Gary  , I would go that route. A suitable analogy would be: If you're trying to turn someone on to beer, would you hand them a wine cooler?

A lady in the office recently told me she was traveling and the hotel she was staying at had a cigar bar attached. So, for this one occasion, she wanted to know what she should smoke. I thought about it for a while, and ended up recommending a Padron 1964/1926 natural. I've never found those overpowering, and they are full of flavor with near-zero bitterness.

Good topic though bro, I'm interested to see what others think. It's not like recommending a cigar to just anyone, we're talking about the ladies, and we all know how they can be. My wife is always going on about how she'll eat anything. Man, nothing could be further from the truth.

My wife has taken the occasional drag. She doesn't mind the smaller aromatic Cubans. There isn't too much in NC's that she's hated, but not much that she's enjoyed either.

Wifey likes Fuente Petite Coronas. She's tried several others, but always seems to go back to those.

LFD also makes a petite of some sort that she likes, but I'm not sure exactly which one it is. Preembargo might know the exact vitola.

I did a split with JHawk for a 5er of Padilla Hybrids, I had them sent to the house to help break in the new humi. From what I can gather I no longer have 5 left......

They were the robusto size IIRC.

I agree with the moontrance suggestion. It's the only flavored cigar I like. It's not grossly sweet, like many flavored cigars are.

Also remember to get her a larger cigar- it will burn cooler making the smoke more enjoyable to her.

I've never understood this behavior. Why? Why, would a man want to do this? Christ, I share enough of my life with my wife. If there's one thing I know, when I light a cigar, I'm going to be left in peace for at least 60 min. I need that, and I don't want to share. Besides, I can only afford my habit, and she doesn't share her chocolate.

Doc.

I gotta go with Doc on this. I would never, ever want to share this endeavor with my wife, as gorgeous and wonderful as she is. First, she doesn't smoke at all and I prefer this. Second, my time smoking is my sanctuary, my respite. Third, she keeps her shopping, yoga/pilates, and other such giry pursuits to herself - with the only sharing of such things being I get to see her in her tiny little, tight workout outfits, as well as whatever outfits she brings home from shopping. With that, I'm good. Beyond that, she knows that if I'm in the smoking room or elsewhere smoking, it's my time.

Got to agree its the only peace I get!

I don't see it as loosing my alone time, I have enough of it already. My GF and I have opposite hours during the day, I get home at 330, 4, she leaves for work around 1-130. On the weekends when I'm enjoying a smoke, or even the weeknights, I would love for her to join in with me. Sometimes she sits out with me and just talks, but I would love for her to take part in the full ambience of it. Very few people around me smoke though, so I'm typically at a party or some kind of event, and my buddies are always kind enough to pre-emptively tell me that they don't mind if I do it. I like to smoke with company 50% of the time I guess. That's why I need to herf with some of you guys. Especially to help me with my Pepin problem.

DOC and MC dropping the knowledge. As usual.

Check this out:

Does that not sum it up? Sanctuary, indeed. I wish this one was mine (it's on a friend's property).

I've got to go with Doc and MC on this one, as well. My smoking time is MY time. I already made the mistake of taking her fishing when we were dating, now she's just as excited about heading to the lake to wet a line as I am. I don't have much time just for me anymore, I'd like to keep what little I do.

A man has got to have his time for reflection.
