Recently got one of these from one of the Bros on this site. Was debating putting it in the top shelf or below [my humi had one of those top trays on which I put the next 10 or so cigars I plan on smoking, the rest go below] when I remembered reading CC's review. Decieded this '01 smoke was the next on my list.

Troyas are the small brand that appears in between Trinidad and Vegas Robaina in MRN so had already dome some reading just in passing. :D

"The taste [Universales] is decidedly "old school" Cuban ... perhaps slightly stronger and more flavourful [than the tubos]"
"Most flavoursome at 5yrs."

Just unwrapping this smoke from it's cello put me on cloud 9! It smalled great, almost that spicy/earthy Partagas smell, but different.
Wrapper was decent, little ugly, but prettier than other MMs.
Cut easily and pre-light draw was yummy!

Can honestly say I have a new fave. machine made!
Great construction, burned well. Med. to light draw produced a light amount of smoke. Had a great taste to it!
Like CC mentioned, not a very strong cigar, but had quality taste to it. Think of it as a milder less spicy Partagas, but with a better all around taste. Never thought I would get this much from a MM.

Another interesting fact is its slow burn. Worked on it for a while and lasted waaay longer than I would have thought for that size.

Def. worth trying out, would highly recc. trying one out.
[on my thumbs up scale, out of 5]
