UN General Assembly votes overwhelmingly to condemn US trade embargo on Cuba.
Too bad we don't listen to the UN anymore.
You know what I love, that we're the ONLY country in the world that has an embargo agains them, but it's that embargo that is the cause of all their problems. Right...
Nice link Larry!

Excellent link and yes we should lift the embargo for those very reasons and expose the leadership of the island for what it is. Take away all their excuses and then let the world judge.
Maybee this is a stupid question but I'm still goin' to ask.
Why is there an embargo against Cuba and not against , for example, China?
Both are Communist countries and dictatorships so what is the difference?

The U.N. also just made Tinkerbell the fairy the new "Ambassador of Green".
Tinker Bell, the beloved pixie from Walt Disney’s Peter Pan and her own line of animated DVD movies, has received a unique honor for a cartoon by becoming a United Nations Honorary Ambassador of Green.
The honor was bestowed on the character, who stars in the just-released DVD and Blu-ray feature Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, at a ceremony Sunday at the United Nations building in New York by Kiyo Akasaka, the U.N. under-secretary-general for communications and public information.
Also attending were Lost Treasure director Klay Hall, producer Sean Lurie, and voice actors Mae Whitman (Tinker Bell) and Raven Symone (Iridessa)
Tinkerbell is a babe. Besides, she makes my crank look bigger.
Doc.

I thought you were just being silly. Turns out the UN is.

Why would I not take seriously something as serious as this seriously is? :sign:
The LA Times article tells us about the billions of aid we have sent Cuba. Total rubbish. That "aid" never reaches the general public, it is for the lying thieving administrators of that country to do with whatever they please. The countless amount of containers of food that has been sent by local churches and subsidised food sent by the US government (or its intermediaries) should be appear on everyones ration card (Carta de Abastecimiento) but never does. As a matter of fact the ration card is getting reduced every year. Where does the food end up? In the government owned stores with outrageous pricing. For example... Chickens get split up into two parts: 1) white meat for restaurants and hotels 2) Dark Meat for the government owned stores that can be purchased at $2.35/lb CUC or $2.94/lb USDollar. Now I ain't fond of dark meat but I can get bags and bags of it at $0.19/lb locally. Recently I saw in many downtown Havana shops "Mojo Criollo" made by Badia in Miami. Mojo Criollo is a liquid seasoning made of grapefruit juice, spices and garlic to season pork. The 750ml bottle sells locally $1.49, in Cuba it was $3.85 CUC or $4.81 USDollar. I have 2 questions: How the flip did it get there and who the flip down there has $5 for a bottle of grapefruit juice? To me it's embarrasing to see these things so out of proportion, but that is what is going on down there. John
