If you have never seen this, this is the US debt clock. Look at the bottom right corner at what we all would have to pay to get the US out of debt. The numbers are mind boggling

Myself, I refuse to participate in this recession. :D How about that stock market debacle. Someone put in too many zero's. A lot of money was made and lost because some fool couldn't count the "0" in a million.

I remain convinced that the stock market exists to strip mine cash from the poor and not-quite-rich for the benefit of the very, very rich. Just look how many "asset bubbles" have burst in our lifetimes, and yet the same coterie of "Masters of the Universe" always seems to benefit regardless---like Goldman Sachs making a billion dollars selling things to its clients it was betting on to FAIL.

I suppose if you go in with that knowledge in hand, and don't get greedy, you can make out alright. But look how many good people's retirement funds have been wiped out while Wall Street bought Lambos and caviar and paid out multi-million dollar bonuses.

Again, meh. ;)

I'm more worried about my own debt than my government's shady accounting practices. I figure they're just me on a larger scale.

Very scary things. Check out this:

http://www.wimp.com/budgetcuts/

All presidents have made cuts like this to the budget to try and help the load, all fall short (not just Obama, Bush too).

We can no longer pay even the vig(interest)! But this was taxation without representation anyway.

However much I agree we should be talking about this stuff, this is not the proper forum.

I laugh when these dry callers call and tell me there is a stock I can do real good with. I own my own business, Why would I invest a business other than mine. I buy x brand for x amount, I sell it a week later for Y amount. I made my profit right away. I'm not sitting around for years sometimes, waiting for the stock to go up. I'm also not relying on someone elses decisions which may not be what I would do. Possibly if I had more money than I needed I would invest in stocks. Right now, I'll just be happy when I pay off my businesses building and the house. That'll free up more money to invest in Audio 2000 (My business) and humidor building.
I know this may not be everyones way of thinking, I can respect that. It's just my way of investing. ;)
