What is the main reason that Spanish Cedar is mainly used in in the packaging of wooden boxes for cigars.
What is the reason that Spanish Cedar wood is prefered over any other wood for cigar boxes.
Why isnt there in the market offers of cigar tubes made of Spanish Cedar wood.

Why take on the cost of tubes completely made of spansih cedar...when you can just line any tube or wrap any cigar with a thin piece of spanish cedar????

Spanish Cedar is non-aromatic and holds moisture well and is relatively cheap. It takes a large block of wood to make a single cigar tube, so, relative to price it is a lot cheaper to use metal tubes lined with cedar or just put the smokes in a box.

Wooden/cedar cigar tubes would 1.) be extremely expensive to produce. It would take alot of wood and time to shape and then mill out the cener for the cigar. And then a wood cap would also be expensive to produce. 2.) glass tubes will hold humidity a bit better. glass allows for an airtight seal.

Hope that helps...
