A little bit of good news on the smoking ban front (great news for those of us that live in Virginia and Maryland).
Both Maryland and Virginia lawmakers have rejected proposed smoking bans.

You got to love the great state of Virginia (and Maryland) for the balls to stand up to no-smoking bans and say "not in our state".
East coast rules...

But in America, you don't pass a law to tell a private business owner who is paying rent or mortgage payments what he can and can't do in his own place," said Del. David B. Albo (R-Fairfax).

Nice to see some states aren't taking away our freedoms. Pretty soon you'll only be allowed to smoke in your house. Sad to see we're heading that direction, especially with people like Rob Reiner trying to control our freedoms.

Too bad that didn't happen here in Lexington, KY. We have had a smoking ban for about a year and a half now. Really sucks.

Maybe so. But apparently individual counties can still dictate bans. Prince George's and Montgomery counties have smoking bans. :angry2:

I live in P.G. county, the county which had a ban kick in January 1st. The ban in Montgomery county has been in place for a few years now.

Great news you lucky VA/MD baxtards. I'm still hoping a proposed ban is rejected here in Utah but it doesn't look good :(
