I just got back from spending a week in Vegas and I must say it was pretty cool. I wanted to give a special thanks to Marco (opusXmarco). He really hooked me up all week long. If you're going to be in Vegas, you definitely have to meet Marco.
I made some large purchases at Casa Fuente, damn, I'm going to be paying for that for a while. I picked up a bunch of 858 SG's, Opus #2, PL, Doble Robusto, Chili Peppers, Phantom's and yes, I was one who couldn’t resist, I bought 2 AF 13's for about the price some of you paid per box! Ouch, but I really wanted to try them. They will definitely be a very "special" occasion cigar. My last day there, after debating for a very long time, I also picked up a Dupont lighter, which Marco was also nice to enough to ship back to me.
Besides Casa Fuente, I think there is one other notable cigar place to stop by and that is Cigar Box. Marco knows these guys well, so have him hook you up. This is one of the stores owned by Michael Frey (one of the owners of Casa Fuente and just about every cigar store in the casinos). It also turns out that Michael is friends with my home cigar store and buddies at Jack Schwartz, so we had a good conversation about that. Here, I was able to pick up the remainder of their La Flor Small Batch Number 1's. I was pretty pumped about this; I'm about half way to having my box filled! Thanks to Marco, I also received a handful of free Opus and some other goodies from these guys.
On my last night in Vegas, Marco took me up to the Foundation Room, AWESOME spot, you can see all of Vegas and the drinks are priced right!
. We then hit a few clubs on strip, which we bypassed lines of about 100 people and went right in...very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, Casa is worth the trip (Rhetna, Mojitos, rare Fuentes), Cigar Box is a good spot (reasonable prices for Vegas).
Thanks opusXmarco (Marco!)
