Vegueros ISOM's?

There aren't too many positive accounts of the Vegueros marca. In general, these are regarded either as harsh or bland and not the tastiest of tobacco. Personally, I have not tried one.

I don't get the impression these are widely regarded as a "must try."

Guantanamera is the other marca that's in the same class. I have a single Cristales in my possession and it is a stinky, ugly cigar that comes in a crappy plastic tube.

I have to agree. I've been gifted the No.1 and was not impressed.

 :)

Hey there,
here's what the last Cigar Afficianado had to say about the Vegueros Especiales No.2 (panatela):

box date: January 2001
rating: 90
"this sandy, veiny cigar isn't that pretty, but it has a fine draw and burn, and considerable flavor. It's balanced and elegant, with likght chocolate notes on the finish and an earthy core of flavor. Medium bodies.

Here's what Min Ron Nee has to say in his amazing book:

Characteristics of Vegueros cigars-
"the taste is very mild, can best be described as very subtly herbaceous, but nonetheless still unmistakably Cuban. This kind of blend might be designed for new comers to Cuban cigars, like a stepping stone before adjusting to the robust taste of other brands. The first batch purchased in 1997 still tastes rather unchanged. It might be unfair to put early judgments on these four years old cigars."

Also, check out this website for further reviews: http://www.cigars-review.org/cigars/Vegueros.htm

Hope that helps, if but a bit.

Darren

Did not really care at all for this brand. Very tasteless and the construction was not that good IMO.
