Vertical Display Humidor

I am in the market for a new humidor due to running out of space. I won a nice savoy desktop humi at a golf tournament but it only holds about 50 cigars, and my other 50 count desktop is filled as well. I would really like a display humidor such as the vertical display  that is very popular on a lot of humidor sites. I like to collect cigars so having a nice display would be perfect. Plus I wouldn't need to open the humidor to look at them. Does anyone on CP have this humidor and what is your experience with it?

If you go this route, with whichever one you buy, make sure you do your research. Less expensive units with all that glass have been know to not hold humidity as well as none glass units. That being said, there are quite a few members that have had great results with better ones.

Here is a great article on CP's Home page about one....LINK

Have fun shopping and let us know what you eventually purchase.

This is an example of the style I am looking for. Nothing too large, just 75-100 count.

You'll fill that thing up before you know it.
I'd recommend getting at least a 300 capacity humidor.

I took your advice, placed a bid on cbid for the treasure dome 300 count. Looks wonderful.

I have no experience with the vertical display humidors. That desktop one looks nice though. It won't be long, and you'll be looking for a cooler.

I do like those multiple trays

That is a very nice looking humidor.

Separate your display stuff from storage/aging sticks. Get a cooler for storage and something nice for display.

Everybody I have known with those vertical display humidors had a losing battle holding humidity. Unless you want something attractive I'd say go with a cooler.
Arlin Liss, a well know custom humidor maker even said that anything beyond a cooler is just a luxury (probably paraphrasing).

When it comes to cigar storage, as the guys are telling you, you can not beat a cooler for cheap, functionally perfect cigar storage.  MadMonk nailed Arlin's quote....and he's right.  A cooler will hold the humidity, buffer the temperatures, and store your cigars with precise conditions.  Before I had my cabinet, I had a stack of coolers running.  Gets boring yanking the lid open and seeing "65" on the hygro, month after month.....but that's the right kind of boring.

I fully believe in 'buy once, cry once' when it comes to humidors beyond the cooler.  Get one with good seals, and quality construction.  If you don't you're going to have to screw around with it forever and that's nonsense.  This is supposed to be a relaxing pastime, right?  ironpeddler nailed it - we hear time after time about guys with cheap glass top humi's that fight the stupid things forever.

You don't have to buy too many $200 humidors before you could have paid for one of these:

...or even one of these:

Those aristocrat Humidors look beautiful. I got a nice finance internship in the summer so I will save some of my money up and put it towards that. I can see that lasting for a long long time. I understand how practical coolers are, but I would like to have a disaply piece.

There are a ton of Staebell owners here, myself included.  They aren't cheap, but it makes me smile every time I pull a perfectly cared for cigar out of a beautiful cabinet that will last several lifetimes.  Bob is also one of the nicest guys there are to do business with.  Easy to recommend.....

I'd say the same is true for the Avallo. Not quite the same options when it comes to wood inlays, but if you keep the woodwork pretty simple, he makes stunning cabinets.

if you give avallo a call directly he usually has some models pre made already that are ready to ship asap and he offers a great deal on them.
