My wife is going for training on a new instrument for her job. The hotel is paid for, so I am tagging along. She will be in training most of the day, So I need a few ideas on things to do with and without her.

We will be staying in the woodland hills area. 10/21 - 10/26

I am already planning on hanggliding and disc golf, and we will spend friday at magic mountain (ROLLERCOASTERS!!!)

I need a trendy cigar lounge somewhere, things to do in the evening after her training, and at least one NICE restaurant for a special evening.

I'm going to miss a lot of the concerts in the area and fright night at universal. Sucks I know. What else can I find?

I don't know the Valley very well, but if you'll have a car I can give you some Basin ideas.

As far as Cigar Lounges, I'd suggest Big Easy on Ventura Blvd in Studio City. Great selection (especially of Tatuajes) and a good lounge-area.

Nice restaurants in spades in Los Angeles, but you can't go wrong w/ Musso and Franks on Hollywood Blvd. VERY old school LA (in fact, I'll be there on Saturday night celebrating my 5th Anniversary w/ my wife)

As for evening activities, you gotta see a movie at the Arclight on Sunset Blvd. Simply the greatest movie theater around, and the 21st century's answer to the Movie Palaces of old. If you catch a show, there is a place to eat call The Bowery a couple blocks away that I haven't been to but have heard great things about.

Heading downtown? Check out the Whiskey bar Seven Grand on 7th and Grand (natch.) AN amazing selection of scotchs and bourbons, and a cigar-friendly patio (the weather is perfect for cigar smoking now too!)

Maybe catch an improv show at the Groundlings, Second City, UCB, or any of the other improv theaters in Hollywood or fairfax.
Visit LA's Farmer's Market for some great food...

I've got more ideas if you need em!

Vendome liquors on Riverside and Cahuenga in Toluca Lake (Studio City) has a "3 for 2" sale on Tuesdays.
