I did a search and I did not find anyone mentioning Effen Vodka. This stuff is like really good water! It's a little hard to find but for about $35 a 1/5th it's reasonable. I've tried all the other boutique brands but this stuff is awesome.

Anyone else ever had it? I think it's becoming a bit more mainstream since I've noticed the distributor has replaced the cork tops with rubber ones.

i'm sure it is effin fantastic!

i'm actually sipping ice cold kirkland vodka out of a frozen caballito at the moment - $30/.5 gal. :)

the problem with vodka is its like cigarettes. Its a delivery system for a substance. There's no flavor or uniqueness amonth vodka's. Some suck and are harsh, others are ok, and some are clean and smooth. But there's not much else if you ask me. If you want to turn something alchoholic, this is your stuff. If you want to sip and enjoy complexity and flavor, I just dont' think vodka is your thing.

Even tequila (although i think its horrible) has flavor and complexity.

YMMV and this is all MHO.

it was at last years CigarFest for CI. from what the guy told me its produced in PA and they have flavored ones to make certain drinks with like cosmos and apple martinis. if i remember right these are the two samples he had at his booth/table.

Effen is imported from Holland by Planet 10 Spirits, L.L.C., Chicago.

If you can get your hands on a traditional Russian sipping vodka, you may change your tune. It is full of flavour, and is a tan brown colour.

Sputnik is a nice example.

I've had Effen, although I'm not a big vodka drink thought it was OK. My personal favorite, which I have found once, is Boru, and Irish Vodka. This is most likely not because it's great vodka but because it is Irish.

Imperia Vodka from Russian Standard is one of my favs. I've had the Russian Standard Platinum and it's incredible. So incredibly smooth. Feels like water going down.
