Watchin' John Daly at the PGA

Sitting here watching the PGA. John Daly has played it from other fairways and in the trees. He keeps saving himself and is hangin' in there at -1! Like a true hacker I am inspired. Can it be a repeat of '91?

There is no way, he is way to inconsistent to pull it out. Thats just my .02 though.

I followed John at the Bob Hope in the Desert a couple years ago. John's a great guy, talks to the gallery, chain smokes, and rips balls all over the place. The most amazing thing is watching John hit balls from under other fairways, under tree branches, off hard pan, through bushes etc etc and land them on the green.

John's a good guy but he lacks control in his game and in his life.

Personally, the exact reasons many people hate the guy are the exact same reasons many more love the guy like a brother.

he's an ordinary guy, with the same problems and issues as Joe next door, but just has some unreal golf skills.

I love watching Daly. It would be nice to see him pull off another major win, but I don't think this is the one.

I live about 5 miles from Crooked Stick, where Daly won in '91. I always like to see him do well.

I agree he is one outstanding golfer, but I don’t think he has it in him to pull this one off!
