If wine is the blood then bourbon must be the spirit!

Whisky, without the "E" is generally considered to be scotch and whiskey with the "E" is everything else.

One true whisky would legally have to be the first one to be licensed which would be Glenlivet.

I'm interested in how you would define it ???

I don't believe in Bourbon. There's only one True Whisky.

Ray, was Glenlivet the first EVER to be licensed, or simply the one currently in existance that was licensed longest ago. If the latter, then there was one true Whisky, and it is dead.

The Glenlivet was the first EVER scotch distillery to be licensed.

I understand the "E" distinction. I'm not fond of Bourbon. I didn't know Glenlivet was the first, but if ya gotta believe in something, that will do.

Over 75% of all scotch is stored in old bourbon casks so you gotta like it a little bit. :)
