But might as well ask it since I’ve had some good NC’s lately. Are there certain websites that are legit that sell aged NC’s? I enjoy some of the fuller types, as some other men do, but typically have them rest for a bit. Just curious is there are areas of the inter web that sell aged ones that aren’t stupidly priced.

Casa de Montecristo in Chicago used to have a fair selection of aged Dominicans, some aged ten years plus but it looks like their website has totally blown off online orders, and they look like they have turned into a B&M, lounge destination.

I didn't think many NC had box codes/date stamps. The local stuff I bought with age, back before I discovered CC was sold at regular price. The only way I knew it was aged was from the tobacconist that I trusted telling me it was. Also, the cellophane was no longer clear. Otherwise, you don't know for certain.

You just looking for a good sampler Brad?

No! You have sent me something amazing already! But yeah just curious if there was somewhere that did this. Nothing in particular though, cause I’m still trying a shit ton of cigars. If not, Ima just post on our buy forums when I actually get some more money, to our brothers here cause I trust y’all more.

Let me know. I don’t smoke a ton of NC stuff, but I still have quite a lot and have weeded out all of the garbage that doesn’t age well IMO.

I don’t think such a place exist. Kind of one of those deals like where Aaron got lucky and found some old boxes tucked away that the owner didn’t know about. You have to be in the right place at the right time, and the finds are few and far between.

There is a place in Longview Texas Tobacco Junction. I think is the name. They sell aged NC’s. Last time I was there which was 3 years or so ago they had some LFD Coronado’s. They about killed me.

Edit:
Had the name wrong. It’s correct now. The one on east loop 281

One thing I noticed, you don't specify what "aged" is. What are you looking for in age? if you have that many sticks currently to smoke you could easily buy one or two favorites and just set them back and get six months to a year on them.

I did that when I bought H Upmann 175, got a box for once a month and set back a box for the following year.

I remember back when I first joined, there was some long discussion on how to value aged cigars. Obviously there is a difference between Cuban and non-Cuban but I'm not sure I remember if we ever solved the worlds problems?

I thought it would be good to get current input on the topic.

I did a spreadsheet using a percentage of appreciation per year and below is what came out.
Using an initial cost of $100, I applied 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, and 3% appreciation, per year, for 10 years.

This may not mean anything, but what it showed me is that there is a point at which I could draw the line based on how things are smoking.
