So this afternoon as I was about to leave, one of my bosses called me into the conference and said..."I hate to this but we are getting ready to make some changes, and I am gonna have to let you go."....over 2 years, doing whatever they asked of me....And I got the shaft...I think I need a drink...guess this was one way to cut back on the cigars...

Melly :(

Sorry to hear that Melly. But with your sweet charm, I'm sure you'll be up on your feet and running again in no time. Keep your chin up! :D

I am sorry to hear that, sometimes though you end up better off. I hope that is the case for you!

Been there . . . done that. Spent almost 10 years with big printing/copying company. The last 3 in corporate account sales/management. Top sales figures for Nor Cal region and one day they put me out on my ear. The entire sales force got the axe that day.

So . . . I understand.

But don't worry something else will come up. For me it was a good thing because I went out and got a job in the legal field. When I graduated and passed the Bar Exam I had experience to put on my resume.

Once you get over the shock and have drowned your sorrow in a few drinks and fine cigars . . . go out and get a better job and make the last employer wish they had you back.

Good Luck

Never a good thing to hear, but I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, sometimes you just don't know it until you look back.

Keep your head up :)

So sorry to hear about this, Melly. Many of us have been there and though getting through can be rough, it's almost always better on the other end of this challenge.

Best,
Wilkey

Sorry to hear that Melly. Hang in there, I'm sure something better will come along. Seems to always be the case!

Sorry Melly... it's always bad when they let you go with no notice. Something new will come along soon, it always does. Plus, then you get to rag on the folks you didn't like at the old job.

Man that is rough, keep your head up Melly. Like the others here, the times I have had to go through something like this always seem to end up better in the long run.

They obviously don't deserve you

As others have said - you will look back and thank the assholes.

I read in your profile you are in the Trucking industry, I am as well and it always seems to happen at the worst time. Right before or after Christmas  , you either have a horrible Christmas or you are flat broke. At a time when you need all the money you can get your hands on. As much as I hate to sound repetitive I will echo everyone else, it will be better. I for different reasons have moved on to better opportunities in Transportation when this has happend. Do not give up on the industry it will be here for a long time.

Sorry Melly. You will be fine and they will be sorry. Someanabitches.

Hang in there kid....... things always happen for a reason..... expand your "comfort zone" and you will be amazed at what can happen
