The life of a Marine is very hectic at times. I got back to my unit on Tuesday only to find out on Wednesday that I'm changing duty stations on Nov. 1, 2008. I'm moving platforms as well. For the past five years I've been working on various F/A-18 models and now I'm moving over to the Helo side of aviation. It should be a fun shift and I'll get to learn a lot of new stuff. It seems to be a growing trend in my field that you should be a well rounded Marine in order to pick up rank. I'm all for picking up rank so hopefully after this tour I'll be a circle.

Anyways...if there are any BOTLs in the area feel free to shoot me a PM. Thanks guys...
 
Welcome back and have a safe move when the time comes. I've been through Norfolk a couple of times for some planning conferences and it seemed like a pretty nice place. Check out Emerson's when you get there; they have a pretty good selection and the prices weren't too bad. :)
 
Good luck on the new location and job. I hear rotor jocks are a little more humble than the jet jocks. Enjoy them Cobra's, they are a great airframe.

We were just there a few weeks ago and we went to two locations that Emerson's has ( we missed going to the one in Va Beach At Hilltop Shopping Center) However the one on Granby Street is real nice and it has a nice selection, but, the one at Columbus Square Shopping Center in Va Beach was the better of the two, Awesome selection and a much bigger store, a lot more hoppin. I found sticks there i couldn't find anywhere around here, plus as a noob they were a wealth of information to me.

Best of luck to you. I spent a month in Virginia on business. I enjoyed myself quite a bit.
Went to DC every weekend which was a great experience.
 
Shit city, home of the 2nd Fleet. Sailors and Marines keep off the grass. :laugh: Who knows, maybe things have changed. Good luck Jarhead.
