What are Your Buying Habits?

I buy my singles from my local and boxes online. I will buy an occasional box from my local, but that tends to only be when there is a cigar event.

I pick the singles according to what I feel like smoking right then. I try not to worry about price too much for a single cigar, I just find something I'm feeling like and pick it out. Sometimes when I see an expensive stick ($20+) if I feel like it I will pick it and smoke it then without hesitation. Other times I have trouble dropping that much money on a cigar to smoke right then without much of a reason and pick a slightly less expensive cigar.

My online box purchases use to be any great deals I could find. Since then I have started to mostly pick up limited releases (Pepin lanceros, AVO LE's, Padron 80th etc...) and any of my "go to" cigars. Something that I know I enjoy and want to keep some on hand and also keep some to age.

And also sometimes Al does his thing and I have to pick up a box or two I wasn't planning on.

My next big purchase will be another humidor or two. I want another large humidor, preferably at least 500 count or higher, and maybe a desktop.

I have a shipment of cigars coming in hopefully sometime soon and I will have just enough room for them. Until I get another humidor it looks like I'll have to resist further temptation of buying any more cigars.

My recent habits have been to buy a few boxes of everyday smokes a month from online since I usually smoke about 2 cigars a day. And then buy a box of premiums every month or two from my B&M. But now that the cooler is full and I have a good collection of everyday smokes to last me a bit, Im going to be putting my money towards premiums from my B&M more.

But while I was away in Boston everything went out the window. I ordered a good bit of yardgars from online and premiums from my B&M, since I was working so much I lost all reason and acted on impulse. :whistling:

I normally buy cigars when something rekindles my interest. A month ago I thought I had a lifetime of cigars in my stash. I just attended a local HERF and got interested again. I have spend about $400 on cigars so far this week. I have yet to come up with a place to store them. That means a new coolerdor or wine cellar. Yet again more money :)

I am really bad. I have SO MANY cigars, but I usually only smoke 2-3 a week. I am a sucker for favorite cigars that are on sale....Exhibit A: I just purchased a 10er of DPG black robos from a BOTL here on the board, but Joecigar.com had them for today's special. What did I do? I purchased another 10er....these two 10ers plus random singles, makes me have about 25-30 DPG Black Robos.

I am a damn sucker for sales and I'm sure Lew, CI, Holts, ect all love me for it. Damn them!

Buy cigars...swear I am done for a while....then buy more cigars a day later. LOL, its fun to have good smokes to choice from when your ready to burn. Buy what you can afford safetly and sell what you can't afford.

There's no rhyme or reason to my buying. I might go 6 months without buying anything and then buy several boxes and multiple 10 packs/5 packs/singles over the course of a week. Then, several months before I buy anything again.

I buy mail order in the spring and fall, when the smokes are
not as likely to suffer from extreme weather during shipment.

At the holidays and during the summer I buy from the local B&M,
often a box split at vendor events.
Once or twice each year I get to Philly and Holts/Mahogany.

Last year a fall charity cigar event brought in so many smokes
that my capacity was stretched. It'll happen again this year.
No I don't have a cooler, which keeps my cigar hobby in check.

In the winter I don't smoke as much, so the holiday Fuentes are
bought and stored for aging. I try to smoke down my holdings
in the spring and summer, but good deals may be obtained as space
frees up. The holiday Fuentes are xlnt for my vacation/birthday
at the end for the summer.

Since I only smoke a box every 6 weeks or so, I can afford to
buy some of the better sticks, which is nice. I refuse to pay more
that $12 for a cigar, although occasionally a holiday Fuente will
push that self-imposed limit. The devil website helps me try pricier
sticks and still stay within budget.

Many of my favorite smokes aren't all that pricey... Ancient/Nep.
Warrior, RP Vintage, Perdomo ESV maduro. Recently found some
affordable RP OWR corojos. Mmmm... tasty! :D Love the AF
Hemis and Don Carlos, too.
