So I bought a bag of this Death Wish Coffee last weekend, and have been slowly working through it.

It tastes great for a medium roast. But...there is an after-taste that takes away from the experience. When its gone....I wont be getting more.

I didnt french press mine. Just regular paper filter brew.

Its ok, but leaves an aftertaste that I'm not a fan of.

I do find that caffeine in artificial concentration can have a chalky unpleasant mineral taste. If you have ever chewed caffeine gum you know what I'm talking about. Also the old Jolt cola had that awful taste.

I personally did not detect much of that in this blend, but it was present.

I don't French press becuase I'm not into the fines that the mesh filter misses - I prefer a cleaner cup. As it stands now, of off my regular brew methods involve a paper filter - drip, pourover (V60), and Aeropress.

I cant honestly say it was a caffeine aftertaste. I mean, maybe....but I have consumed perhaps more that my fair share of coffee....

There's a lot of 'nutty' flavor in the Death Wish. But I think that the aftertaste comes from some herb or spice they add.

Couple of new bags came today... I'm working on redialing in my Aeropress recipe since I'll be on a couple of trips this summer... and yes I unfortunately have a travel coffee set up that I bring along lolol....

Something new I picked up at the store on sunday.

This states it is a medium roast, which I concur and agree with. Very nutty.

But is ridiculously over caffeinated. I made it as I make all my coffee, and I actually got the jitters. On two different occasions. Will probably make it tomorrow to see, while reducing the amount I grind.

Have a couple of trips planned so I want to tweak my Aeropress recipe... Yes, I bring coffee with me lol.
