Hi

The other day I asked if cigarillos should be kept in a humidor like cigars. One of the answers was "keep them in the humidor as long as it is not dry cured tobacco" or something like that. So what is this dry cured term. What is the difference between a dry cured cigarillo and a cigar?

"Dry cured" tobacco means that it is simply over-baked and hence, completely dried. Unlike cigars, they are best suited for life outside of a humidor, in ambient atmospheric conditions.
Infact, storing SOME dry cured cigarillos in a humidor will make them moist and soft, and even plug them.

Typically, dry-cured products are very low priced, have a short filler, and are machine made.
For ex. cigarillos, gas station cigars such as Black & Milds, Swisher Sweets, etc.

Quality cigars however, have long fillers, are handmade, and are always kept humidified throughout the construction process. They will dry out and become garbage if not stored at proper humidity.
