I went down a Wikipedia rabbit hole researching Cotton Eye Joe and Rednex a few weeks ago, coincidentally. I don't remember what inspired the look into the past, but it's interesting to see that the "band" is still going today -- albeit with no original members, I believe. At one point they decided to do rotating rosters and regional troupes, much like Trans-Siberian Orchestra does each year.

No artistic talent here. I bought it for $30 at a flea market in the early 80's
