Dexter having a PhD was a small inspiration for me to go back to school and college. Actually now I think about it I think he was pursuing his masters when they hit it big. Bad Religion front man is a professor at Cornell.

I know that I mentioned it to Paul when I saw that concert, but it doesn't surprise me, honestly. To see how happy Ozzy was being back on stage, I knew that it would literally kill him knowing he would never get to feel that again once that night was over. It was still a shock it was so sudden, though; I would have expected a steep decline in health followed by him passing shortly after.

Went to maybe 10 in the first 12 years after I moved to the area. Too bad they ended in 06.
 
A few years ago I was sitting in an airport bar and got to talking to the guy next to me for a little bit. The conversation shifted towards music and I mentioned that I was a little bit of a country singer/songwriter myself. He said "what was your name again?" and when I told him it was Eric he asked "did we go to school together?". I said unless he went to school in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA then probably not. He told me that he went to school with a guy named Eric Lee Beddingfield who ended up becoming a country singer. He showed me this video for his song "The Gospel According to Jones" and I fell in love with it immediately. The Possum himself makes an appearance in the video for the last verse.

Annnnnnd if you think about it, if Zakk never got the gig with Ozzy, we may never have became friends :D
