Interesting mixes on both songs The first one has snare on the left, kick in the middle and what little cymbals there are on the right. The second one follows the same pattern but with rhythm guitar on the right while loading the left with snare, lead, and vocals.

Historic trivia

The original REO Speed Wagon was a truck designed by Ransom E. Olds in 1915. Olds, one of the earliest car makers he had built his company large enough that it was bought out in 1908 by General Motors. Part of the agreement was that Olds couldn't be involved in car manufacturing for 10 years. The Speed Wagon (soon shortened to one word) being a truck didn't violate the agreement and was in production from 1915 to 1953.
