Grand Funk Railroad, 'Live Album' (1970)

The most critically unacclaimed band of their era Grand Funk kept rolling along filling more stadiums then any band of their time. Defining American Hard Rock of the late 60's with songs like Mean Mistreater, and Heartbreaker while paying respect to other groups in their covers.

This was released as a double album and like most of that era was cit to fit on a single CD. Unlike others though it has been reissued many time in both double CD sets with all the songs and the editied single CD. While the album cover show the bans playing at the Atlanta Pop Festival none of the songs on the album were recorded there with all being done at different Florida locations.

At the time reviews were like those of Kiss - you either love them or you hate them. Words like predictable, plodding and unimaginative were common at the time but more modern reviews place this as near equal to groups like Deep Purple, MC5 and Free. What the critics said didn't seem to matter to the buying public as the album went Gold a week after release.
