Maybe you sandbox vets could shed some light on this. I applaud the lad for getting his ass to the line. However, in a combat zone, I can't imagine even sleeping with my boots off.

The boots was just a metaphor. I reckon that, so long as outbound lead exceeds the inbound, things are under control. However, how would you like to be in firefight wearing red?

That reminds me of my Father telling me stories of when he served in the USAF during Vietnam and wearing the "shoot me here" white patches they had on their "pickle" suits. Thank God that they actually made them the same color as my uniform when I served.

Exactly... in that situation I wouldn't be thinking about myself. I'd be thinking about those bastards trying to kill me and my brothers.

maybe not so good for camo, but great for motivation! Twin Towers coming back at yah! To answer the question though, Chesty would be laying down lead in the buff, in negitive 70 degree weather while looking into the sun, and he would gett'em all, too!
