I rarely play the Lottery but with the prize so high, I decided to throw a few bucks at it.
My son asked me "What would you do with that much money?"
After the usual items, I thought it might be cool to try to get my own personal blend Cigar. Not to sell, but for personal consumption and buddies, etc.
Who would I ask? Would they even be willing to do it for me? What size(s) would I concentrate on, which tobaccos?
In my case, the obvious choice for tobacco and size would be Cuban Petit Corona, with a Lonsdale and Corona next. I love the smaller ring gauge Cubans. With the Embargo still in effect, I doubt that is a possibility.
If I had to pick blenders to develop a legal cigar I think I would go for those whose smaller ring cigars have impressed me.
I would concentrate on flavors typically experienced with Nicaraguan Tobaccos but would remain open.
Blenders whom I'd approach would be:
-Carlito Fuente (Has shown repeatedly that he can produce unique and tasty blends regardless of size)
-Abe Flores (I think he's a genius at making very flavorful cigars with enviable construction)
-Romay Endemaño (Raices Cubanas - Based on Original Illusione. Only time I've ever liked a whole line)
-Pepin Garcia (Based on The Tatuaje Noella and Angeles, but I think his best cigars are mostly Robustos)
And honorable mention to Frank Llaneza, who blended a lot of favorites in small formats.
