On January 6, Greek people take part in various traditions and ceremonies to celebrate the Epiphany. The most important ritual on this day is the "great blessing of the waters" which is performed by a Greek Orthodox priest. The tradition is that a priest throws a special cross into the sea and many brave young men and boys dive into cold water competing eachother who would be the first which will swim faster and retrieve the cross.

It is the same with Armenians as well. It’s a day of feasting with fish & rice, followed by a week of fasting. Blessing of the water etc. My mother’s family is Armenian- we were in Armenia together 1.5 yrs ago. I’ve also been to Crete as well- the lemon trees people had in their front yard- it was amazing-

Same religion, that's why the turks genocide Greeks (Pontos) plus Armenians at 1915-6 and later at 1922 the remaining Greeks (Byzantine era).

I’m well aware. This is me at the Armenian genocide memorial in Yerevan last summer.

Heard a sound while in bed last night- sounded like a hissing noise- kind of like a soda can being opened. Then the beautiful stank of fermented tobacco made my wife say- “what is that?” So I’m digging around my “cellar” to see which one popped.

A little bit of rust and corrosion probably why the seal was compromised- but the tobacco smells great & is without blemish. Absolutely exquisite. Actually the most exquisite thing I’ve ever smoked.

There were a few relights, but I didn’t dry the flake out at all- so- meh- who cares- The taste of the creamy well advanced in age Virginias linger BOLDLY on the palate even 8 minutes after the smoke has ended. I have found my pipe smoking nirvana & NOW understand WHY people have such massive cellars. Once you’ve experienced this, there’s no going back!
The topping on this has kinda disappeared and the cavendish made for a creamy nuance- the Virginias were VERY creamy and naturally sweet. Absolutely beautiful symphony of flavors! I enjoyed this in my Nording Hunter freehand-
