What's this world coming to?

Part of my daily routine is checking the daily headlines. Lately there have been a lot that are really making my head hurt. WTF is wrong with some of these people. Most stuff I can pass over but lately there have been an alarming number involving babies that are starting to depress me.

The first was a baby who had it's toes chewed off by rats in the night. The "responsible" adults are locked up but how do you let something like this happen? Later I see a story about another baby that was bitten to death by rats! Come on people...

Next is the woman who mutilated and canibalized her baby because "the Devil told her to do it." This story keeps unfolding with more info that really is depressing me.

Today I read about a pregnant woman who was killed and her fetus stolen... The guilty party is still at large.

Humanity can be really sick sometimes. I just want to say, leave the fuggin' babies alone!! They are innocent.

Here's hoping for a brighter tomorrow and no more events like this for a long long time. I've been finding solace here at CP. Thank you CP!

Amen to that, for the most part people are well adjusted and tolerable... but then again there are those people who need to be taken behind the wood shed and put to sleep.

Its probably a little of both, the other day on yahoo I read about a lady who was a schitzo and hacked her new born up with a samurai sword, then the husband tried to blame the hospital because they " missed " the signs that she had gone bat shit.

There have been episodes of mass murders and sexual predators since the dawn of time. On one hand the population of the world is much higher now, so statistically there are more freaks. Second people live closer together and we have 24/7 News and instant communication, so a story from another party of the country could be your local lead. Thirdly, there is more/better reporting/tracking, FBI databases, various non-profits, etc. etc... and we keep better track of children now. Imagine New York City in the height of the Great Depression if 1 or a dozen children went missing would anyone have noticed?

I agree that we hear more about the nut jobs because of the multiple 24 hour news channels and that there are just more people. Also, in cases like these in the past, some of those people would have been strung up by the mob. I hope this murderer the same fate she inflicted on that expecting mom.

Unfortunately our judicial system is run by a bunch of morons. I just read the local news today when I woke up, and found out a group of life long gang members who shot and killed a Loomis armored car driver point blank in the middle of a Wal-mart store is going to be living on our tax dollars for the rest of his natural life. The average security driver for Loomis makes 11 dollars an hour... to have some lowlife come up and kill you for a few bags of coins is just ridiculous, but to have the trigger man getting paid to smoke cigarettes, lift weights, and watch TV is an outrage. Then the other 3 people in the car all plead not guilty and it looks like they are on the verge of getting away with it, even though they sped out of the parking lot then went to a hotel and enjoyed a 200 dollar dinner at sizzler... of all places to spend the money... Sizzler...

You hit the nail right on the head, They have too many rights. If someone was to break into my home right now and was holding a knife or gun and I put them down, I would have to make sure I called my lawyer before I called 911... I read about a guy who fell through a skylight trying to break into someones home and broke his back he won the case and was paid out somewhere along 7 million dollars for it... because the roof was deemed " unsafe "... he and the lawyer who defended him should get the chair IMHO
