Here ducky, ducky, ducky!
I saw this at CF and thought it was such a great idea that we should do it here also. What better way for us to know if there's a fellow CPer around while traveling.

Rod, I used the CP Logo and if you have a prob with this let me know and I will remove it. Actually I could use a better Logo pic if you have one. I can use up to a 1.5mb photo.

Click on the "Add Yourself" button and use your CP handle for the name and enter a zip code. You can then put anything you like in the "Shotout" section and add a pic if you like.

The reason I haven't really advertised our map much is because I'm still testing it. But feel free to add yourself to it...

I would be good, but the link used to get lat/lon makes you sign up for an account which is obviously a means of collecting e-mails for spam purposes.

Well, I did both. Figured it couldn't hurt. However, I did notice that when I added myself to the CigarPass map in testing, that from the default view SteveHawk pretty much covers me up. But the zoom feature is pretty cool. That is a pretty accurate description of where we are in relation to each other's house. KiltedCraftsman is just about the same distance I am from Steve, but dead South of Steve.

Cool!

Umm... not it isn't. Just type your address into the "Maps" section, click on "Go", and the resulting map it takes you to has a box in the bottom left corner w/ your Longitude and Latitude. No email necessary. Not sure what you did.....

 That's pretty cool Kenny. Too bad you can't edit the shout out. Mine quadruple posted when I refreshed my screen.

It looks like you can click on a non-balloon space and drag the map around if you don't want to zoom out like that....

Hope that helps,

Uhhh... this one did the same thing... Sorry, Cory...

that's a pretty cool map. I added myself by following the link to find my lat/long... I never knew that before. Handy to have available.

Rob, never saw the map you were testing before. When I go to your link all I get is a thin map that only shows a strip across the page. No matter how many times I click on larger nothing happens.

THIS MAP appears to work and I believe this code below will allow you to host a clickable button or something to send people to it.

Code:
<a href="http://www.frappr.com/cigarpass"><img src="http://www.frappr.com/i/frapper_sticker.gif" border="0" alt="Check out our Frappr!" title="Check out our Frappr!"></a>

I don't understand that stuff but if you wanted to add this to the site there it is. I'm the admin of the page so if anyone needs any help send me a PM. If you need to change anything I will need to delete your original entry and you then just resign back on.

BTW, this map apparently puts people in their area code so some people may be close to their actual address and others far away. This is much better than using an actual address from a privacy standpoint.

LOL! I saw that!

Gotta scroll halfway around the world for me... or zoom out a lot!

Also, the "zoom in" tag on my blip doesn't function correctly. I think it's a lack of detail in Japan, but it crashes when you use it to zoom in. Manual works though.
