Newbie still trying to fill up my humidor. Right now, I buy the singles from the local B&M, but am looking for online for all the great prices.

What are the best places to buy online?

Which places should I avoid?

For example, a lot of people tell me to avoid Thompson's becuase they come in really wet and may affect the other sticks in my humidor.

Thank you for your help.

It depends on what you are looking to buy. For example some sites like superiorcigar.com take a certain percentage off of MSRP for all their cigars so cigars that are hard to find at a discount are cheap on sites like this, but cigars that are basically always sold under MSRP aren't great to buy there. Other sites have a good relationship with certain cigar makers. For example the owner of Holts.com also owns Ashton and Gurkhas always seem to be super cheap on cigarinternational.com compared to other sites and B&Ms. Hope that helps.

www.atlanticcigar.com and www.cigarsinternational.com get most of my money, along with some steals from www.cigarbid.com. I'll second the mention of Al, too, he's got a great selection at good prices. I try to stop in anytime I'm in Atlanta. :)

Never ever under any circumstances order from Thompsons. Now you are warned. ;)

Cigarsinternational and Cigarbid get most of my money, though I'm open to deals from famous and other shops that are running specials.

Why not Thompsons? Dis you have a falling out or is there some CP boycott going on?

Cigars International or even cheahumidors.com

My suggestion, fing a cigar you like or have recommended and use "the Google" to find it. Remeber sometimes the best price doesn;t mean it;s the place to order. I ordered a sampler that came with some Gurkhas and the damn things were dry as a bone! But the rest were O.K.

Unless you want to get reamed I would also suggest staying away from Thompson's. I don't think it's a CP boycott, it's just that they're unbelievably high on most things and don't carry the variety of cigars that some of the vendors already suggested carry. JMO though.

Newbie Sampler Trade (if you haven't already). If you don't have the smokes to trade, pay them money for a sampler. ;)

I've also heard it is a shady operation.

That's the beauty of a forum like this. I haven't ordered from them yet and I most likely won't. I have noticed that they have high prices but even the mention of being shady. . .

I agree 100%, I used to buy from Thompson back in the day when i didn't know anything. Their home made brands are horrible.
