So the other day, the "Official Scumbag" thread comes to life with the following post....

I'm just a member of CP, like you. where did I say that I was interested in bringing him back?

This seems to be the appropriate thread to ask the question...I mean he is/was a scumbag from the sound of things. Other than AVB I don't really see anyone coming to his defense.

And then at 8:10 and 8:11 he goes in and modifies two of his posts from back in March in the "Should Leebo be CP’s official "Leader"?, let's have a poll" thread... While we can't read the original content, given the context of the discussion at the time, it seems very strange Hereshortly would come into that thread and post "hi" in the midst of a heated discussion - and then make a blank post a bit later on. Clearly the edits were to remove something Hereshrtly didn't want us to read...

I also find it interesting that Hereshortly has not participated in any useful discussions, has not introducted himself, has not offered any opinions other than to reinstated Servebig, or defending PuroBrat. And please, hereshortly, don't go back and edit your original posts - it makes you look bad....

So - hereshortly - I refer to my original question, which I don't think you've satisfactorily answered...

Who are you?

Why are you interested in bringing Barney back?

And please be honest....

Seeing he has been changing his posts, that leaves some questions. ???

Well, now... That's strange....

I receive a PM from Hereshortly this morning at 11:49 AM, the title of which is "i have no axe to grind with you". The body of the PM is "let's move on, ok?" So I PM him back with, "Ok, who is it you have an ax to grind?" Hereshortly then signs off....
 
They are in fact one in the same. A couple months ago, maybe 6, SC/Leebo/Moki and I were all in the chat. Hereshortly came in and I right away realized it was Barney. Has he changed? I don't know nor do I care. Has he been gone, YES, but have I noticed or cared? NO.

Well, Barney showed up in chat as "Hereshortly" yesterday. He tells us his name is "Ringo O'Rourke" from Liverpool, England (his mother was a big Beatle fan, that's why he was named "Ringo"). BS - BS - BS... That's all there was...

Clearly, Barney does not want to do this the right way - he wants to troll his way back onto the board. If that is the way he wants it to be - I say he stays banned. Someone trolling to convince other members to accept his alter-ego back is not the type of person who I would like to see in the membership here. I agree with JimK - there's way too much to lose to be lax on bannings...

And I think Lee is WAY to forgiving in this. Barney was pretty brutal in his being called out. He clearly did not act like a respectable member of this board. No one should have to tolerate having their wife and family threatened - which is one step lower than threatening a member (which should also not be tolerated).
 
Agreed. If he truly wanted back in, he should have at least emailed Rod to begin with.

Take the damn cigars out of your nose Barney and do what's right.
