Just tried my first sungrown. I started with the Arturo Fuente cuban beli torpedo, and it is my #2 favorite cigar at the moment.

Second only to the Padron 1964 anniversary series, this being the best judgement due to what I have tried as of yet. I will definitely be purchasing a box of the AF sungrowns very quickly. It was bold enough for me with a great variation of flavors throughout the cigars. I was constantly anticipating what new flavor would arrise with the next puff. Creamy like the HDM Excalibur, but with a different edge to, if that is the right way to put it???

I am mainly doing this post as a way to find out who all of the sungrown fans are out there. So please reply to my post and let see just how many sungrown fans there are on here.

I always thought this was just a marketing ploy first instituted by Fuente and caught on in the market. Isn't 90% of all tobacco sungrown tobacco since the only one that isn't is shade, which is grown under cheese cloth?

I like sun-grown but find myself smoking less of them lately, I like to mix my wrappers often to keep it from getting boring.

A list of my favorite sun-grown are

Rocky Patel Sun Grown

Ashton Virgin Sun-Grown and Estate Sun-Grown

AF Cuban Beli

And if Devil Doc is correct (and I have no reason to doubt him) the Padrón 0000 series naturals are also sun-grown.

I like cigars, sungrowns included. The only wrapper I cannot abide is Sumatra, but that could change.

Doc.

I too love SGs, including VSG, RP, AF Chateau series, Ashton Heritage, and Cuesta Rey CF (in more or less descending order of strength). They are all very tasty cigars. However, I also like most other types of wrapper, although I'm generally not wild about CT shade or Sumatra unless the blend has some super flavors, because I don't find that those two wrappers give as much flavor as I might wish.

I have to agree with Doc. I like cigars to :D .

I do like sungrowns. I always have a number of RP sungrowns on hand, they have become a staple part of my humidor.

And I also agree about the Sumatra. I haven't had that many, but haven't cared for what I have tried. It could just be from a poor blend but I haven't tried a Sumatra that will find room in my humidor.
