Who's a Redleg?

Do you mean regleg or Redleg?

Edit to say a redleg is an artilleryman but I can't seem to find how many belong to the Order of Saint Barbara.

Edit again to see which order you are particularly asking about, the ancient or the honorable. Not that I know the answer to either but it might help someone else find the answer.

Saint Barbara, Patron Saint of the Artillery

The Order of Saint Barbara is an honorary military society of the United States Field Artillery. Both U.S. Marine and Army field artillery along with their military and civilian supporters are eligible for membership. The order is managed by the U.S. Field Artillery Association and two levels of recognition exist. The most distinguished level is the Ancient Order of Saint Barbara and those who are selected for this honor have achieved long-term, exceptional service to the field artillery surpassing even their brethren in the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara. The order links field artillerymen of the past and present in a brotherhood of professionalism, selfless service and sacrifice symbolized by Saint Barbara.

My legs are lightly tanned and a little hairy. If yours are red, I suggest aloe vera gel and some tylenol if the pain is too much for ya. :sign:

In my frustration of not being able to find out the number of members I am going to say that it is a trick question! I know it's not, but hey, it'll help me sleep better tonight! :sign:

I am an honorary member!

We support the Field Artillery with everything. Without us there is no Artillery!! :D

I was presented the award last year!

Figures you'd be one but I was looking for some of the guys that actually do the work :p

My father was a Redleg. 32nd Battalion, 1st Infantry division. He was very proud of the red piping on his pisscutter.

Doc.

Either or will do.

I originally enlisted as a 13B back in '93 and I think I fired all of one round. I'm sure that doesn't count, though.

I could find some contact information for an Artillery unit over here, if you want...

I apologize for not having posted an introduction yet, but I saw this thread and wanted to reply. I sent 3 years on active duty as a Redleg. I was the FDO and XO of an M110A1 howitzer battery with the 1st ID (Mech) and many years in the IRR and ANG. FA the King of Battle.
