Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe in Texas you can use deadly force to protect your property. So, you can legally shoot looters.

They're just being polite and posting a warning :p

You can legally shoot to kill if protecting your property in Texas. With that said, you better make damn sure no one counters your version of the story.

Moral: aim true!

Are you kidding!? Here in the Peoples Republic of Minnesota a thief can break into my house, bludgeon me with lead pipe, steal my VCR and if he slips and breaks his neck on the way out the door he gets to sue my insurance company.

In Texas it may be your property, but in Idaho and Montana it is only in your home. So if you shoot him, just make sure you drag him back inside. :whistling:

Packing.org has TONS of gun laws and whatnot that will answer MOST questions about self defence and other gun related issues...just in case anyone cares. :D

I forgot all about that site! Haven't been there in a while, but remember that it is a wealth of info relating to concealed weapons and self defense! Thanks for the reminder.

I thought that the practice of shooting looters on sight was one of the "perks", if you will, of having declared martial law. Up until martial law is declared, the standard state laws of self-defense still apply.
Is there a lawyer in the house?

Oh, and I would NEVER advocate moving a body AT ALL after a righteous shooting. Forensics will figure out immediately that it has been moved, and you have instantly become guilty.
"But, your honor, I was just moving the body into the shade so it wouldn't decompose so quickly" ..... :whistling:
