I thought someone might be interested in this. I have hosted a double blind winter beer tasting the last few years and here are this year's results. There were 13 tasters this year all rating each beer on a simple 1-10 scale. The results are ranked by arithmetic mean with the highest and lowest scores removed. This is the first year that there has been several that were almost unanimous.

No Smuttynose Winter Ale? Local beer is better beer.

We can't get that one around here. 6-7 of the ones in the lineup were from Texas. We are going through a beer revival in Dallas right now with a half dozen or so breweries opening in the last 2 years following a state law change but not many of them did a winter beer this year.
