Winter-time Cigar Smoking -- Indoors?

I smoke in the house, but I use the smoke eater candles that JR sells in the stores, white jar candle with a smoking cigarette with a red circle and line through it, no name on the jar. They run about $4 each and you can't tell some one has smoked in the room.

I have two air filters that work to a certain extent but...... I havn't found anything that is perfect. The combination works pretty good (at least my wife thinks so) and a smokers candle would certainly help.

Both of my air filters are Hepa rated and one has an Ionizer. I leave them running most of the time and just have to make sure I empty the ashtray. If you leave a butt in an ashtray...forget about it...instant stinch in the house.

Believe it or not I bought both of mine at Wally World. One was about $130...(large model by GE) and then the desk top was about $50 (Holmes). The Charcoal Filter replacements are expensive but I've yet to have to replace one in the past two months. Mostly just wash out the dust collected.

Last but not least I try and only smoke in one room. I've actually been thinking about putting a bathroom exhaust fan in my home office and pull that smoke up into the attic. Still thinking about that one. Stay away from smoking in a room where your cloths might hang. No filters can get the smell out of your cloths.

Being that I live in Southern California, the weather doesn't get too bad. However, I typically just open up the window(s), and point a little fan out the window and light 'em up. The next day it smells like a Las Vegas casino in my room, but that's ok, cuz I love Las Vegas. :)

I smoke by the fireplace. Get a nice hot fire going and the heat pulls the smoke right up and out the chimney.

I still don't do it when the wife is around though. :D She doesn't think it makes a difference.

She can never tell though.

That's a pretty clever idea. Where better else to smoke than in front of a hot fire in the middle of winter? Sounds good...

I am very fortunate that my wife "allows" me to smoke inside when I want to. She smokes a cigar every now and then herself, so she doesn't mind my smoking cigars inside, especially now that the weather is turning colder and wetter.  We got a $39 air ionizer/cleaner from a local drug store last year and it has helped alot.  It stays on 24/7.  Also, we keep a fan going all day long and it keeps the smoke and smell from settling.

I don't get it. Why do you need to smoke indoors? When it gets reeeeeaaally cold here (lower 70s), I still smoke outside. LOL

 I tried to smoke inside last winter and that went over with my wife about as well as pissing into the wind! ??? :0 LOL So in the winter my smoking habit is down to whenever I can make it to the smoke shop, which is usually 2 times a week.

Here in the N/E we have basements. I have an unfinished section that I have commandered for a winter smoke area.
I put an exhaust fan in the window and it seems to keep most of the smoke and aroma from permeating the rest of the house. My wife even helped me run cable for a small tv and I have an old easy chair also.
I'm happy. :)

I just moved into a new apartment in NYC, so that last thing I wanted to do was smoke it up like my old dorm room. I decided to just brave the cold and smoke outside, while I enjoy the city. Besides there is nothing like braving the winter with a warm cozy cigar. The only problems Ive had are a lady walking by covering her nose and mouth and she entered my vicinity as if to say "how dare you smoke that out here?' I guess we are not even welcome to smoke outside anymore, maybe they will have to blast us into space or something when we wanna enjoy a 'gar.
