Today I wondered into a new B&M. The place had a great selection and pretty good pricing. As I walked around I conversed with the clerk who was very friendly and seemed knowledgable about cigars. On a scale of 1-10 I know .5 about cigars and that .5 is a direct result of CP. Two things in particular that I've learned from here helped me indentify this pleasant clerk as either a BS artist or an misinformed enthusiast who would benefit from a couple of months on CP.
1) As I came upon a box of Oliva Serie V box I asked him if he'd had one. He went on to explain that the Oliva family had supplied tobacco to other cigar makers but had recently come out with their own cigars. I said, "Oh really?"
2) As I came upon two boxes of Anejo's I asked if he had experienced any mold issues with them? He said, "Actually, that's called plume. And people actually look for that in a cigar. You just wipe it off and smoke it." I said, "Oh really?"
He wasn't trying to push inferior cigars on me and I don't think he had any malicious intent, but thanks to CP I know not to ask him any important questions. I can do that here where there are truely knowledgable people willing to answer questions. Thanks CP.
By the way, he did say he was getting in two boxes of Padron 80th Anniversary editions. I don't think I'll be buying any for myself but if anyone would like me to get some for them I'd be more than happy to do so. Just PM and I'll put in an order with him.
