I cant believe it. The house sold today and we actually got our asking price. And that is the piece that amazes me most, especially with the housing market in the wonderful shape its in. It did take us 7 months to sell, but its done..

So this weekend its out looking. I think we are going to move to the shoreline here in CT. Maybe a condo or small house. The plan is to have one here and one in FL.

guess we have to find one here first...ahahahahhaha

time to break out one those oldies in the back of the humidor....

sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... also time to close one page and start another....

Congrats! I know how hard it is, especially here in California.

Very nice.

Congartulations Art, excellent news! You are definitely fortunate. I know several people, including my next door neighbor, who've had their homes on the market for over a year, reduced the asking prices 10's of $1,000's and still nothing.

Thanks guys. It was pure luck on that price.. We had just been discussing dropping the price to be sure it sold. Then someone came in this weekend and gave the price.

Its been a while since we sold one and I think I may have forgotten all the emotions that roll with a sale too.....

Yup, it's exhilarating selling your place (and getting what you wanted for it).
and it's kind of a downer to look around and know you are leaving a place that has been your home for so many years.

But then there's moving (which always sucks... )

Good for you! Helluva a time to be selling a house and getting what you want for it. We bought ours 8 months ago and already we're losing money. Good luck finding another, god knows there's all the choices in the world out there right now.

John

Congratulations! I'm currently in the process of selling my condo (relocating for job). I hope to be as fortunate as you once I list it in June.

Coo, i can't wait for that feeling, we've had ours on the market for about 6 months now, considering pulling it off till things pick up. Got the call Thursday night from the realtor, said some Dr. that just took a job at the hospital wants to look at it for the 2nd time, Sunday between 11 and 12, really really liked our house last time they looked. She called back Friday night and said it'll be Wednesday around 2, then called back Saturday night late and said it'll be Monday at 9am. We bust it, get the house all gussied up, and we get the call, after they've looked at it.... Said they didn't like our floor plan, yet they've looked before, loved it, and had it "narrowed down to 3 houses (ours included in the 3). What a pain in the ass dealing w/ idiots is

I so agree Gator. I guess we are lucky in that our kids are all grown and out of the house because I know what a PIA it is to keep in 'show quality' that I cant imagine how people with kids can keep it up for the duration. And there are so many houses and condos to choose from alot/most people are just window shopping. I do think that once they sift through all the garbage thats out there for sale they end up coming back around. Its just to bad it takes so damn long. I bet in the 7 months we probably had 50 or more look at the place.

so I so know where your at with yours...

Gratz man! How bad is the market in CT anyways? Thinking of moving back around the Colchester area again. :)
