Would you buy from this person?

It's ok though Gary, the truck was in one of the drier Parishes of New Orleans and only under water for a couple of weeks.

Sam I agree, we should just get Gary the truck no matter who gets the money!

Gary, I will beat her price by 500$USD. Send me the check for the amount she was going to charge, and I will give you a refund via check.

How come everyone gets all these great deals and i never get them? And i need a good cheap car too.

I received the same email. When I replied to see the car, she had no problem with me checking it out first. It was about an hour drive and I took my mechanic to check the engine. This is what we found.

Rich

.......I sell it at this price $5000 because i just finished the divorce with my husband. When the divorce has finished i own this car......
Ok, so she just finished the divorce, but when the divorce finishes, she'll own the car.

Riiiiight. I get it.

Dunno, Gary....you might have to check her out. If she's freshly divorced she might "love you long time, Joe"......

Let's be careful out there - B.B.S.

Online sales in general, and craigslist especially, have really gone to the crapper.

I get an email to the tune of:

"I'm going to pay you in full with a cashiers check, and send someone over (not me) to pick up the item"

just about every time I list something for sale over $100 ... regardless of what I'm selling.

The car is already at the shipping company in Columbus, OH sealed and ready for the shipping. The VIN is xxxxxxxxxxx. It has 71900 miles.I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. I'm very busy with my job and I'm left out of the town so I can't meet in person with you so this is the reason why I chose to sell my car over the internet. According with the eBay you have 5 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.My brother in law works at DAS,and he promised me that it will cost me nothing to ship it to you.
Here is how it will work:
1.First of all I will need the following details from you:
- Full Name
- Full Shipping Address
2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay.
3. After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices. The invoice will send you the details on how to make a refundable payment.
4. eBay will contact me and I will ship the car to you. After you receive the car you will have 5 days to test, verify and do whatever you need to the car. If you will buy, then I will receive the payment details from eBay so that I can pick up the money.
5. If you will decide that you will not buy the car, eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my car. If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed. I look forward to hear from you.
Thank you

did this person actually give you a VIN number? A valid VIn should be 17 alpha/numeric characters. VIN's are public information and not considered private (after-all they are stamped on the dashboard in plain sight of the world). Post or PM me the VIN and I'll check it out and see what comes up. ;)

Craigslist is horrible in that aspects. I was selling golf clubs and got a email from a guy from "South Africa". I was looking for $175 and the email said, i'll give you an extra $150 to send them to me. Maybe I should have done it, after all he was a rich doctor.

X2 to what everyone else said above, and don't forget what your "gut instinct" is telling you, if you feel "weird" about it, walk away ... :whistling:

friggin craigsasslist....got another one:

Hi,i see from your email that you are interested in the condition of the truck
so you have to know that the truck is 100% working and looking very good, has 73.323 miles,no flaws or dents,
no scratches or any kind of damage,no flood or wrecked and it has a US clear title,
the interior looks great,is brand new condition because I have took care of it
like it was my baby(the truck is located in Ephraim , Utah ready to be shipped).
This is a regretful sale but unfortunately i need money for my son ,
he is in hospital and i really need money for him. This is why i am selling the truck so cheap.
BUY IT NOW for $4700 because i want to close a quick and smooth deal with a serious person.
About the shipping i can tell you that will be done through DAS Door to door delivery and it will take no more than 3 days.
The truck will be insured at the shipping company for the transport
and the shipping cost is free because my brother works at the shipping company and he has 1
free shipping a year.If you are still interested please contact me asap.
Thanks
