I just saw this cigar and wondering if anyones heard anything about it, or if the description is abunch of smoke. I haven't posted really anything but my intro. I've been on here alot just learning from everyone elses posts. They've been a great help on helping me fill my humi. Although I can't afford this expensive of a cigar, curiousity has the better of me and I would like to know more about it. Anyways, any info on this cigar would just be good to know for the future. Who knows maybe I'll win a lottery and be able to spend the money to try one one day.

Gurkha 'His Majesty's Reserve' Crystal Churchill

Saw this one the other day and it has quite a story behind it. Although I'm sure it's probably good I can't see spending that much on a cigar. Would love to read a review about it though.

Gurkha 'His Majesty's

I saw this link but still haven't been able to find a review on these or even anyone that's suppose to have tried them. But at $100+ a stick I think I might be looking for a while before I find a customers review, if there is one. I may just have to hit that lotto and find out for myself.

At MSRP of $10,000.00 per box, $500.00 per stick I'm thinking it most certainly can't be worth it. I'm sure it's more of a status symbol type purchase.

Though if you wath cbid you can grab one for about $175.00. I won't be reviewing this any time soon, hehe.

ALL THAT MONEY AND IT'S A FLAVORED CIGAR? WTF? Save your money! ???

I haven’t had it but I was told it’s not worth the price tag. The platinum isn’t as good but you can get almost 15 of them for the price of that one.

For the money, I think I'll pick up a few boxes of Mid 80's davidoffs, instead of a box of these, thanks.

I've had a couple...they were not on my dime. They were casino comps. At one time most of these cigars went to casinos. I do not know if this is still the case. These are occasionally on one of the cigar auction sites. They have been going for the high $100s, if my memory serves me correctly.

This cigar has typical high line Gurkha construction and a very strong cognac flavor. It should, as every box supposedly contains an entire bottle of cognac. If you like cognac paired with your cigars, it's not a bad way to go. However, it is definitely not worth the tariff. You can have a similar experience with the platinum line for a significant decrease in required investment.

Personally I like cognac and cigars. However, my money would be better spent on a vintage bottle of cognac and an appropriately rare or vintage box of cigars. To me the HMR is only a marketing ploy...Next time you have an Anejo in your pocket and you are feeling wealthy, stop in a Smith & Wollensky's or a McCormick & Schmick's; Just sit down at the bar and order a bit of Louis, then light up and enjoy. You get an experience at least 10 times better than the HMR in my opinion and worthy of a real review.

Think os all the GOOD cigars you could for the price of one flavored cigar!
Doesn't even sound that good but I've never had, and never will try a flavored cigar.

I had a customer who wanted to purchase the box and even prepaid it, but he wanted to try one first. Needless to say the people at gurkha wouldn't supply me with a sample!

I was given one by a rep who worked at Gurkha at the time (3-4 years ago). It would have been a great cigar if it didn't have the Cognac in it! I count it as one of the single worst cigars I've ever smoked!

I guess that would be your review. :0

ill take a bottle of louis XIII and a box of anejos and save myself a few thousand.

Thanks for the comments. Those comments have pretty much satified my curiousity. I agree that it's not worth the price tag. I had just never seen them before, and it became a holy shit moment when I saw the price was just for one.
I would most definately be investing my cash in a good box rather then a single cigar. (Or a good bottle of Cognac! ;) )
One of the things that struck me in the review on cbid was that they listed specifically "Casinos" had them. I figured that only a high roller would recieve these as "They were casino comps."
I'm not really into flavored cigars myself, but there are a couple that I like. I like Al Capones once and a while. They're nice for a quick smoke, but overall I avoid any cigar if it's flavored.

This one probably wouldn't be my cup of tea, but I would love to try one even if I didn't like it. Sounds funny, but I like to think of it like a part on "Bruster's Millions". It's like mailing the upside down red barron stamp, a Terrific Train Reck. :D

So true....

ACCORDING TO THE REP, the story goes like this:

Each tobacco leaf is "hand-painted" with Louis XIII cognac before getting rolled, which takes an immense amount of time to make just one cigar.

I personally love the Gurkha Grand Reserve and Royal Salute cognac infused, and they are much more reasonably priced.

I spoke with a guy yesterday who soaks his humidifier with Courvosier (spelling??) rather than distilled water. He loves the way it affects his cigars. I don't know if I'd pour Louis XIII cognac into my humidifier, but hey, maybe if I could afford a bottle of it, I could afford to throw it away like that.
