In starting an inventory control process for my coolidors, I have a question about writing on the cellophane.

Would the use of a permanent marker to make minor or even coded notes on the cellophane potentially be introducing foul odors into the pristine environment? I would obviously let it dry first but in a "humid" environment would it continue to smell?

I have seen that other brothers do this but before I adopt this practice I figured I would see if anyone had experience.

Thanks

Usually the cello extends 1-1.5" beyond the foot....that's what I write on. If it doesn't, I wouldn't write right on the body of the gar.....

I use a extra fine point sharpie and let the gars sit for an hour or so after I write on 'em. No ill effects, so far.....

Regards - B.B.S.

I have written of many Connie's so I can tell them apart. Done directly on the body with no effects thus far. Used a Sharpie like mentioned above. I would say I have done it around 30 times in the past half year.

You can also write on the head of a cigar w/ a finepoint sharpie if it's not in cello. It's a goodway to track cigars if you're getting them naked/5'ers/gifts.

I write the date on all my bundled sticks with a fine point Sharpie with no ill effects. On more valuable sticks, I use label/bands.
