A lady I ride to school with wants me to get her some cigars for her brother for xmas who likes em but doesn't know jack about em.

Limit is 30 bucks including shipping. I can do that but I want to give him the best bang for the buck.

Any ideas? Bundles are welcome and I can probably talk her into a humi/cigar combo if it comes in under the mark.

Main thing is most decent cigars for that price.

P.S. Any of you guys who like Mike who own a shop are welcome to plug your stuff. I'm open to anything I just want it to be nice.

the 5 vega series is excellent. if you pm me your addy, i'll mail you out a few to get the xmas gift rolling :)

-- edit : i have a small 20 ct humidor that i'll mail off too if you get shipping. or something, we can work it out later if you're interested.

You can pick up a tenner of some Gurkha Legends for under $30 from cbid most times. Great cigar for the money.

I'm doing this for 2 of my friends.
Ordering a humi on CBID for $9-11.
Filling them with a nice mix of my own cigars - you know around 5-7. Some things I like (Gurkhas, Punch), some cheapies that are enjoyable (Rosa Cuba, Sherpa). Taking out the humidifier's sponge, putting in some beads and recapping the humidifier (I bought 1 pound for a reason!). Write some directions and a friendly note "THESE ARE FOR YOU TO SMOKE NOT SHARE; I'll get you some crappy smokes if you want to share them with your lame roommates. If you do not give me your opinion after YOU smoke them I WILL KILL YOU."
Grand total really will be less than $30 a person and they'll get a humi and some good smokes. Plus I get 2 more guys that will always have a cigar on hand for next time they see me! Of course I do save on shipping by making this purchase at the same time I was reloading on some delicious Gurkha Regents and Centurians! ;)

Also grabbing a CI sampler off CBid is smart but if you plan on purchasing from CI for the shipping for whatever reason - these 8 smokes are mostly enjoyable.

They ran these 8 cigars + humidor for $20 in the summer. Needless to say I took advantage more than once!

Skip the humidor for now, get him one of those Fuente Humidipak bags and some good cigars to try out. A bundle of cigars he doesn't like isn't going to get him as interested as a few cigars he really enjoys.

I say let him pick out his own cigars since he knows what he likes. Get him a nice lighter or a Palio, SAK, Xikar cutter or Cigar Caddy that will last forever. He'll remember what a great gift it is for years to come instead of being gone in a few hours

Just a thought
