Hi all,
I noticed from time to time around here people tend to dislike Xikar cutters so I thought I'd share my experience. I had bought an XI3 with redwood handles and used it fairly often. To be totally honest I didn’t take very good care of it at all and it got beat up bad. I’ve found it mornings stilling in a pool of beer. The blades were kinda dulling and a handle was starting to came off so I figured I would send it out and see if I can get it sharpened and the handle fixed. Within a week of sending it out I got a envelope back from Xikar with a brand new XI3 in it covered by them. They really stand by there warranty and I’m definitely going to take better care of this one.

Mornings, no less!

Mines having some sticking issues, I need to get mine sent back.

Do you have to send anything in to them first, to register the product in order to recieve service on them?

Or can you just plain ol' mail in the cutter and say "hey bro, sharpen my Xikar please."?

Well, a buddy and I have this bad habit that when we drink a lot we go out and have a yard gar to slow down the pace and sober up a bit. Surprisingly enough at party’s we usually get a crowed out by us shootin the shit. I guess gar’s really are a status symbol to most people.

As far as I know you don't have to register, you may though. If you do register however they send you a free leather pouch. I have personally sent mine in to have it sharpened and it continues to work amazing.

Sorry, forgot to say if you register it is easy on their website and takes about five minutes.

Hey Wyatt,
I'd register it first (but don't think it's required), they will also send you a nice case for it as well

If you need any assistance in sending it back from there PLMK

When you send it in to get it sharpened, do they really sharpen it or just replace the blades?

I have one with the Solingen German blades and I'd rather not receive the Chinese blades in return.

Thats what has been keeping me from sending mine in to be sharpened.
