Xikar cutters

I have done some research and it seems that the Xi3 is the most expensive, then the Xi, then the Xi2. Any reason for this? Is the Xi2 inferior? Any help is appreciated.

It seems to me that the trim materials have a lot to do with the cost. JMO though.

I don't know that there is any difference whatsoever in the blades, but that's a guess on my part. I have the "cheapie" and it cuts gars like you can't imagine. Excellent cutters; never felt the need for anything else.

The cutting mechanisms are the same throughout, its the handle material that makes the cost difference.

Yup its the handles. I picked up two cohibas from a broken apart gift set for 19.00 a piece, I wore one out sent it back and got a new one..

They all have the exact same blades, Xi cutter blades are made of high quality 440 stainless steel with an HRC of 57. All Xi cutters are the same ring gauge: they will cut a 54 ring gauge cigar in half. Depending on how much cap you cut, they will cut up to a 58 ring gauge cigar.

They also come with a lifetime warranty.

The only difference are the materials used for the handles.

Basically, it's the one i'm using at the time, although the xi3 is nice!

I had a Xikar cutter maroon, Xi 2 I suppose. It lasted 4 weeks and fell from a counter and exploded. So my vote would not be for that model. I don't have the replacement back yet. Palio would be my vote for the best Xikar.

Just wanted to post that Xikar sent a brand new cutter in replacement of the old one and I am more than satisfied with the response.

The mechanism broke on mine and when I sent it back I also requested that if they could change the color from silver to gunmetal. I got my cutter back in 2 weeks with the color changed to gunmetal. Great service!!! :thumbs:

So they are all the same. Its just the casings that makes them different and more expensive. The new Palios are the same. The new casings are more money. But in the end they are all the same cutter.

As for guarantee they both have a full replacement guarantee.

I got the one that came in the Cohiba box. It cuts great. I really enjoy it as well but I seem to use a punch a lot.
