Has anyone else noticed the overwhelming destination of former New York pitchers seems to be the city of Chicago?

I was watching the Met/Cubs and who do I see sitting on the Cubs bench but Ted Lilly and Jon Lieber. Then across town you have Javiar Vasquez and Jose Contraras. And these are only active roster players.

All of these guys were utter failures in NY but seem to have had reasonably good careers with their new clubs.

Sometimes I think my NY teams eat their own young.

I was watching the Met/Cubs and who do I see sitting on the Cubs bench but Ted Lilly and Jon Lieber. Then across town you have Javiar Vasquez and Jose Contraras. And these are only active roster players.

All of these guys were utter failures in NY but seem to have had reasonably good careers with their new clubs.

Sometimes I think my NY teams eat their own young.

We have had many white sox players leave here who underperformed and went on to other teams and have had ridiculous years.

I think sometimes players need to be in the right situation to excel and play to their potential.

Why???

You can't tell Red from White, or do you just know that your hometown Angels are to strong to bet on your own team? I am so confused by someone who proclaims such loyalty to his RedSux betting on the White Sox?????.....methinks more Yankee fear creeps in...

Lieber was a cub before he was a yankee, and a Pirate before that. As for their failing in NYC. Contreras was actually pretty good in NYC his first year and in the playoffs, but most guys just cannot take the pressure and scrutiny of NYC. As a Chicagoan living in NYC, we are just much more congenial as fans.
