I saw this on another board and figured I'd bring it up here. I know what some of you do but others its a mystery to me. I'll start it off.

I'm network engineer for an ASP (application service provider). I work in a 24x7x365 NOC (network opertions center). I mainly support cisco routers, switches, and load balancers and also support checkpoint firewalls.

Thats what I do to pay for my smokes. What do you do?

Unfortunately I've seen Beast's work... It's not a pretty site... :D

I'm a full time web designer. Also a certified bartender and have my own bartending service I provide for the Los Angeles (So Cal) area.

I write software for traffic control systems. Most of what I do is embedded development, which means that the devices that run my software are special-purpose computers. I do the development on a PC (called the host) and transfer the binary (executable) code to the embedded device (called the target) to run it. My targets run a real-time OS called OS-9 and all the code I write is in C. My biggest customer so far is the state of North Carolina. We recently signed a contract that will span ten years and within a few years my code will be running in nearly every state-maintained intersection from Asheville to Nag's Head. We also do a lot of work here in Colorado, Texas and Kentucky.

At work I'm forced to use Windows as my host system, so I virtually never use it otherwise. Everything in my home system is Unix: Linux for my desktops and laptops, and OpenBSD for my router/firewall/proxy server. I use Windows to earn a living; I use Unix for fun. :)

Oh, and Beast...I'm not sure that wiping down the set after a "shoot" qualifies you to claim to be "in porn". :D

Tough act to follow...I teach applications to staff and students at an Osteopathic Medical School. An an open door help desk to students and field calls referred by our help desk from the staff. Maintain 80 some-odd pee-cees/macs (new total) on our network.

2. Answer my wifes's questions...we both work at the same place.

ok i'm going to be the boring one of the group.

i work in warehouse for the mcjunkin corp. we distribute pipe valves and fittings to chemical co.,oil refineries, and mechanical contractors, also natural gas co.

i do recieving,shipping,packing,drive forklifts.
i've been in different types of distribution for about 13 yrs now, and this company definitely doesn't follow any standard or efficient distribution practices.

the job really sucks but as long as my job gets done i have lots of freedoms.
come and go as i please (come in a little late or leave a little early).
play here on my favorite web site :D .

ok! ok! wake up! i'm done now. ;)

:D Hi all how are ya. :p
Well gws3 I guess I am going to be preety boring with ya compared to the porn star and the rocket scientists. HEHE
Some of you may know but I am a engineering Technician at The city run Public Utility. I help make the water pump and the **** flow. :p

There ya have it. I do like the new look of the site! Man it has been way to long!

Electronics Technician in the Coast Guard. I work on all types of electronics. The DGPS beacon signal you guys use out on the rivers and ocean I maintain. I also maintain shipboard and shoreside radars, radios, beacons. IFF transponders to identify friendly airecraft and ships, Tacan for aircraft navigation, Electronic Warfare for anti missle desfense, Optical Sight Surveilance for low light level video recording, and what everyone likes to call us, the cable TV man. We hook up different audio/visual systems for use on base and on the ship. Also have dabbled in computer network hardware.

My job can be very fast pace and demanding at times. At other times it is quite slow. But the Coast Guard is a very rewarding job. The Guard has spent over $150K on my initial and ongoing training in Electronics.

I sit at a desk all day and talk on the phone to Morons.

Oh, more spacific? OK

I work with a company called TelVista. We are a technical Support Outsourcer contracted to do the phone support for CompUSA's Technology Assurance Program (TAP = Extended Warranty). I support all the PC oriented products sold by CompUSA with a TAP Warranty. This is everything from a tiny Digicam up to the full PC systems. I usually handle around 50 - 60 calls a day from all over the world, troubleshoot and fix what I can, dispatch a technician on-site for those I can't fix. Pay sux and the company sux. But at least it lets me have some time for Cigar Pass :D

While my official title is Electrical Operations Manager for a company who designs and builds athletical field lighting, everyone else here thinks I'm the keeper of the internet. They assume that if I leave my desk and quit surfing the web that it will immediately lock up and the whole world would be without interent service. So, to keep them happy I sit here all day and most of the night making sure you fine folks don't lose a very valuable resource. :)

Well, mine isn't all that exciting either. I am the Evening Manager for a residential treatment facility for children. My job is to ensure safety both to staff and our residents. I'm involved in crisis management and do allot of training for our staff here. We have 5 cottages that hold 12 kids each. Right now, we have 35 kids here. It can get hairy and if restraints have to happen, I'm usually the one that does them. When things are quiet, I can surf the net and make sure no post on CP goes unanswered!!

I also do home improvements on the side (during the day). This pays for the "toys" and cigars! :D

I am a Credit Manager for AmeriCredit Financial Services, Inc. If you go to a dealership and finance a new vehicle, we might buy your loan.

Who's next?

(Internet Marketing)

I am a network engineer. Currently, I provide remote technical support for two major hospital networks in NYC.

well by day i am a bum and by night...well.....same i guess....I am a unemployed computer technician. Pretty much like if something breaks i fix it, or I should say I used to fix it. damn restructers and stuff sucks big time....... :(

Well boy my life seems unethical compared to all of yours, I have been in business with my father and brother for the last 20+ years. {except for the last 2 due to poor health, yea I know aaawwwwwww} we buy up business from people who are financially in the ****ter and rebuild them and then sell them for profit, mainly bagel stores, deli's, pizza parlors etc. Before you jump down my throughout about taking advantage of other peoples misfortune, we give these people a way out before the lose there lives to bankruptcy.

I am an EMT with 6 years ER expierence, Though recently I took a new job in the Cardiac Cath Lab. I officially start November 4th but have been moonlighting there for a while. Got tired of all of the scumbags and whiners with broken fingernails asking "why did the guy with the bullet hole in his leg go ahead of me, I was here first" (true storie)

I own and operate a small printshop. Mostly I support my wife in her job (Strategic Account Mgr@ a publicly traded IT company) by attending Black Tie deals and the like In D.C. and environs.

Beasty's in porn? Hmmm. I was gonna do that but they just kept laughin' at the screentest so I went home...
