Not Your Everyday Cigar Pass

Hey Rob, I'm about to call you. Everybody else: I am heading to my parents' place in NJ for Yom Kippur this weekend, and will not be back until tuesday morning. I want to make sure I'm not holding up the pass. This is a change in plans that I was not aware of before today.
If a change in order/skip of my turn is required, let me know.

Josh

Edit: Just spoke to Rob. If it is OK with everyone, Rob will send the box to gary, who will hand deliver to me, I will send it to the next participant.

Gary, if you still want that thing you know is going in, I can go "virtual P&T's" before this thing even gets here, and hand it to you tomorrow night.

If anyone ahs an issue with this, please let me know. Gonz...any issues you see?

ummmm...yes! :D but...if it holds up the pass - no.

I defer to the pass particapants.

As long as all of you involved are on the same page then it's fine with me. If the pass were to get held up one or two days I wouldn't be too bent out of shape. Just be sure someone checks the humidification and adds distilled water to those pillows if necessary.

hell, I'm so far back in line it doesn't matter one little bit!

I talked to Josh and I will be sending the pass along to Gary tomorrow then! I guess my snafu might have wound up to be beneficial in the end! :p
I will check here before I send the box just in case anyone has a concern.

Andy I object, they are talking in code

Josh - in the old days you would walk to NJ to repent, fast
and walk back. I bet you are driving :sign:

LOL. You are correct. Driving indeed. I was pretty good this year, so the driving repentance should me OK.

As for the "thing" it is one of my probable puts that I was discussing with Gary. I'll crack the code for you: It's a reasonably old, moderately hard to find cigar. From an island. That island is NOT Greenland nor Long Island. It might be New Zealand, but probably not. Hope that helps.

It's more of a thingy....not a linky.....but a thingy!

Gents,
I don't have the box yet, and do not want to hold up the pass, so after some discussion, I am going to do "virtual" P&T's, and get my P's to Gary early next week, who will then send out the box by wednesday, which is what would have happened had there been no change. In order to keep this schedule, I am listing my proposed P&T's here now. I have spoken to a few BOTLs about these in PM. Please let me know if there are any issues.

Thanks, Josh

I must say this Pass has been very entertaining to read about. I am relatively new to this board but it is nice to see how a pass of this magnitude is handled here.

Regarding the RyJ Churchill ('99) for the H Upmann Sir Winston ('01):

It looks like the value on the RyJ is less than the Sir Winston, I'm finding about a $75 per box discrepancy (about $3/stick). What does everyone else think about these, and does the two years of age make a difference? Thanks for the info, I'm so absurdly busy and sleep deprived I need the help! :sign:

Two extra years of age definately has value.

IMHO, it is splitting hairs for the $3 - I have no problem!

Back to you guys :whistling:

I'm sure everyone here know's my position on this! It's bad form! It just fuels the fire of the scumbags who pray upon the newbies. When I'm in a pass I hate to see it done... and I really hate to see it okeyed. :sign:

So whatever....

Mike,

I'm not clear on the point you're trying to make. Would you mind just elaborating a little? This is my first pass on CP and I want to make sure I am understanding the mechanics and culture of the pass.

Ok...

Here's the way I view passes ( especially passes with higher end sticks and lower member number players). Alot of newbie passers look on. So, If you take a $14 stick and put a $10 stick ... even if you're putting 2 extra... very very good sticks. It resembles quanity for quality. We constantly have to watch the board for the scumbags that come in and pray on our board and claim they don't understand the rules. If... even though it's petty to some of us in this pass, we condone it, then how can we make stands against the "real" shysters that often infiltrate our house?

That is why I hate to see a listed P&T where the take is valued higher than the put by over 2 bits.

Explained this way, I agree with you!

Just to clarify one point though. In this example there is disregard for the age of the stick. Are you suggesting that current MSRP must be used to determine value?
