For simple, I'd rather see the float attach to the top and hang vertical. The bulkhead fitting could be a potential leak down the road unless it was always above the water level.

But if you're monitoring humidity, why sweat tank level? If humidity goes below your low threshold, you know to check the water.

...that's my take on it. When this is running properly (almost there), it's super consistent and if something changes a point or more, it's time to take a look....
 
Good ideas! Thanks! These are a lot cheaper than the laboratory grade scales I was considering.

I guess I could use two copper probes at different levels and just connect them to a continuity meter.

I use sterile water for irrigation which isn’t a great conductor, but it should be good enough; especially if I use colloidal silver.
 
I new it had a alarm for water didn't know it was no water.
Yes, I had edited my response to include "when the humidity drops below a certain level" it can be set within the controller. I have mine set at 65 percent.
