The 55 Chevy Project - Low and Blown!

Looks like this was sent to paint.

And I JUST found out.
Looks like my bro' took the initiative and checkbook!

It seems a Nova came back from a PA shop a little while ago.
My brother saw it in the shop where we have our car.
He was so impressed...he said to take the 55 back with them...they did!

Here's where it's being done.

Car is at the painters and the hood, front fenders and doors are removed and prep'd.

Here's and update with some photos: LINKY

We are doing a single paint of some 'black' and are thinking of a dark gray interior. Those parts are still in the works.

We also picked up a new aluminum grill (horizontal bars).

By late April we hope to have it back in CT for the final wiring - at which time the interior will be finalized.

Whew...only this <------> much more $$$!!

:sign:

I can feel the excitement over here.

Looks great, keep the pic's coming.

Thanks for sharing.

Well, it seems like this car had a SUN ROOF!

Yes, I said that...SUN ROOF!

We got a call from the painter and he said - 'Umm, there's about 3-4 buckets of compound on the roof.'
Oh crap, right?!
Quickly we call a parts guy in the area and he has a 55 sedan roof (...not the 'hard top' as this is a sedan)...and wouldn't you know it...he has one.
It's in good shape with light surface rust and the posts were cut far enough to put this on the car.
My brother picked it up last Wednesday and had it to PA for Saturday.

The good part, my borther said, is that it's the last major area were we can have any sheet metal issues! ....LMAO

I hope to have some more shots soon,

Another good thing, with the roof liner down, we can now do what we want inside!

This made me laugh out loud trying to picture you driving down the road in your s5 at 150 mph+ getting sucked out of the sun roof.

Well, nearly a month since the last update....the NEW 'old' roof is on!!!

They should have the car down to metal and filled....ready for paint within the next couple weeks.

Now for a color!

The car will be BLACK.

Interior....two shades of grey....<maybe red piping>>
Dash and interior metal to match the outside.
We are leaving a 'vintage' 3 point roll-bar in place - and it's RED!

LINKY to roof pics - in 'sheet metal' album.

Anyone want to buy some cigars....

Well, it's been a while.

Car has been painted and is in the interior shop. Should be about 6 weeks until complete.
I'll work on getting some more photos up too!

Here's a link to the picture as I'm having trouble uploading to CP.

The older ones had a yellow charger which is long gone.
