LOL, since I worked at a theater level operations control center this last deployment, I actually understood all that crap. I'd have to negotiate with the CHOPS and the ALO to get short term air taskings implemented on behalf of my division. TIC response was always available but sometimes one of the subordinate units would plan something short term based on some sort of intel, and guess who's job it was to make sure they got their 1.5hrs or coverage?

I was an Operatioins Specialist/Air Intercept Controller in the US Navy 1985-1990. My callsign was Bam-Bam. Controlling fighters was the best part of my job. The closet I came to combat, was controlling F15's in the Persian Gulf just prior to Desert Storm.
